We met at a sit-in across from the Southern Illinois University Administration Building in May of 1969. She needed a ride to the Health Center and I had a Vespa without a starter. I had to push it down the hill and pop the clutch to get it started and I ran over my foot and broke some toes. (We looked comical driving back to the sit-in with her holding my crutches.)
Fast forward to November 1970 and we were married at the Orrington Hotel in Evanston. We were married for 13+ years and our greatest accomplishment was having two of the finest children to ever walk the earth.
There are several back stories to the saga but that will wait for later.
I was a Corporal in the Marines in 1970.
My brother-in=law and Marlene's cousin.
My friend Jeff. We went into the Marines on the Buddy program.
